How Acupuncture Has Transformed My Life:

I have always been fascinated by the mystery of the body and mind. I was a sensitive, sickly child, interested in the process of “alchemy:” transformation from one state into another. It was through acupuncture, that my life and health were transformed: both as a practitioner, as well as a patient.

I'd battled chronic asthma and digestive problems since childhood. My Western doctors told me they were issues I'd have to learn to live with, as there were no known "cures" for these conditions.  However, after a series of acupuncture treatments, both chronic issues disappeared.

Acupuncture treatment has the power to treat issues of the physical body, along with those of the mind and spirit. Sometimes physical conditions can have their root in mental-emotional or spiritual disharmonies. Regardless of a condition's "root," acupuncture has the capacity to restore harmony to the body.

One area I've found acupuncture to be particularly strong is in its capacity to fortify body function and overall strength. Symptoms are not merely suppressed, as is often the case with drugs. Overall immune function is strengthened to restore the body's innate capacity to heal itself.

Health and balance are natural to the body.  Often it simply requires an energetic nudge for the body to regain balance and find its natural way.

The Spiritual Process of Healing:

As a patient, I've continued to use acupuncture as preventative medicine: to keep my body strong and my mind centered: to correct imbalances before they manifest as disease.

I have also come to honor the spiritual aspect of the healing process. This is the main reason I began my deep study and practice as an acupuncturist. I felt alienated by the separation of body and mind, and the total disregard of spirit within conventional medicine. The ancient wisdom of Chinese Medicine deeply honors the healing process, seeing it as an individual path of transformation. Viewing health and illness in this way has illuminated a bright light in a sometimes dark and scary room.

I developed a mission to help others find their own illumination in the dark: to bring harmony to body and mind; transforming illness, confusion and frustration into health and peace.
